Job summary

ZEREN in Lisbon is seeking a Group Business Controller to lead the Group FP&A function, owning monthly reporting, budgets, forecasts, and KPI reporting for the SaaS business.

The role reports to the Global FP&A Manager and works closely with the CFO, acting as the finance partner to central functions and linking operational plans to the P&L. A competitive package including bonus is on offer.

Qualifications

• Strong command of monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and modelling.
• End-to-end ownership of processes with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Finance business partner to functional leadership on cost, headcount, investment and resource allocation, owning monthly reporting, forecasts and the annual budget for the functions in scope
• Link operational initiatives and savings to the Group's financials, tracking benefits from approval through to realised value
• Contribute to the Group budget and forecast process and SaaS KPI reporting, with scope to take on greater ownership over time
• Build business cases, scenario models and investment analysis for engineering, acquisitions and strategic projects
• Collaborate with commercial controllers to keep Group plans and revenue detail aligned and raise FP&A standards

Job description

Zeren is partnering with an international, PE-backed B2B software business on the appointment of a Group Business Controller in Lisbon. The role sits as a senior member of the FP&A function, reports to the Global FP&A Manager and works closely with the CFO.

The Group Business Controller takes the Group view on growth, margin improvement and cost efficiency, and acts as finance partner to the central functions, owning the numbers and linking operational plans back to the P&L.

The role

• Finance business partner to functional leadership on cost, headcount, investment and resource allocation, owning monthly reporting, forecasts and the annual budget for the functions in scope
• Link operational initiatives and savings to the Group's financials, tracking benefits from approval through to realised value
• Contribute to the Group budget and forecast process and SaaS KPI reporting, with scope to take on greater ownership over time
• Build business cases, scenario models and investment analysis, including engineering and development spend, acquisitions and strategic projects
• Work hand in hand with the commercial controllers to keep Group plans and revenue detail aligned, and help raise FP&A standards across the team

What we're looking for

• Experience in FP&A/Business Control within an established FP&A team, with a clear view of what good looks like
• Strong command of monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
• End-to-end ownership of an area or process, with specific examples of the impact delivered
• Experience partnering senior non-finance stakeholders, with the confidence to challenge as well as support
• A real interest in how SaaS and software businesses make money (SaaS or technology experience is an advantage)
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-change environment
• Desirable: experience taking an FP&A function from a less mature state to steady state, exposure to both larger, structured organisations and leaner environments
