Job summary
Nordex in Portugal seeks a Grid Code Engineer to help ensure grid conformity and advance SCADA and control systems for renewable energy projects. You will work with international teams to translate regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions and support grid-integrated deployments.
The role focuses on analyzing grid codes, supporting certification processes, and contributing to testing, simulations, and field validation.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, or similar.
- Experience with grid compliance, grid integration, or power analysis in renewables.
- Hands-on with SCADA systems, PLCs and industrial automation.
- Experience with PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of international grid codes and medium-voltage tech.
- Familiarity with Profinet or Modbus TCP.
- Strong English communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement software solutions in SCADA and control systems and provide after-sales support for operational issues.
- Execute software updates, integrate new functionalities, and ensure compatibility with existing OT systems.
- Analyse national and international grid codes and translate requirements into technical specifications for design, control, and testing.
- Coordinate certification processes and ensure compliance with ENTSO-E, FGW, IEC, or BDEW.
- Perform system testing, validation, and performance evaluation using simulations, test data, and field measurements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support projects in achieving grid-compliant system integration.
- Contribute to root cause analysis of technical issues and drive continuous improvement for SCADA and control systems.
