Renvolt, a Voltalia subsidiary, seeks a Grid Connection Engineer in Porto to support the operation, analysis, and optimization of power systems within the renewable portfolio. You will handle grid connection design inputs, regulatory codes, and documentation to enable reliable interconnections.

The role requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years’ Power Systems experience, with familiarity in Grid Codes and tools like ETAP/DigSilent.

Qualificações

  • Master Degree or Degree in Electrical Engineering - Specialization in Energy Systems or Automation Systems (mandatory).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Power Systems area.
  • MS Office, AutoCAD, ELEK, ETAP, DigSilent (valued) and other electrical engineering software tools.
  • English language proficiency; Portuguese, Spanish, French (valued).
  • Available for national and international travel.

Responsabilidades

  • Analysis of received technical information for a project affecting Grid Connection design (RFP/RFQ/Tenders).
  • Interpretation of Grid Codes and regulatory requirements impacting interconnection design.
  • Participation in design and dimensioning of electrical systems (substations, MV/HV networks, lines).
  • Preparation and review of electrical documentation (SLD, SCADA, protection, diagrams).
  • Analysis and validation of grid impact studies (power flow, short circuit, voltage/reactive power, stability).
  • Contribution to technical assessments evaluating alternative solutions considering performance and costs.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams during sales, engineering, procurement and construction phases.
  • Interface with external stakeholders (consultants, suppliers, grid operators).
  • Participation in due diligence of electrical designs; contribute to tool and procedure improvements.

As aGrid Connection Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the operation, analysis, and optimization of power systems within our renewable energy portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Analysis of received technical information for a specific project (including RFP/RFQ and tenders) that impacts the Grid Connection design of the project;
  • Analysis and interpretation of applicable Grid Codes and regulatory requirements impacting the design of renewable power plants and their electrical interconnection infrastructure;
  • Participation in the design and dimensioning of electrical systems associated with renewable power plants, including: Interconnection substations, Delivery stations, Medium and high voltage electrical networks, Transmission lines and grid connection infrastructure;
  • Preparation and review of electrical documentation, including: Single Line Diagrams (SLD),SCADA, protection, control and automation systems,Electrical layouts and interconnection diagrams,Technical notes and calculation reports;
  • Participation in the analysis and validation of grid impact studies, including: Power flow analysis, Short circuit analysis,Voltage and reactive power capability studies,Stability and dynamic performance assessments;
  • Contribution to technical assessments and optimization studies, evaluating alternative engineering solutions considering technical performance, grid compliance and project costs;
  • Provide technical support to internal teams during sales, engineering, procurement and construction phases of renewable energy projects.
  • Interface with external stakeholders such asEngineering consultants,Equipment suppliers,Grid operators and utilities;
  • Participate in technical due diligence and review processes of electrical designs developed internally or by third parties;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering tools, calculation methodologies and internal procedures used by the Power Systems team.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Master Degree or Degree in Electrical Engineering - Specialization in Energy Systems or Automation Systems (mandatory);
