THE PURPOSE
Global grid codes are becoming increasingly stringent due to stability risks, blackouts, and rapid regulatory changes, while rising technical complexity—such as FRT, GFM, and storage integration—demands specialized expertise across wind farm and turbine controls. As grid systems expand and diversify, advanced analysis beyond converter diagnostics is required to ensure compliance, control performance, and grid quality, making a Europe-based Senior Engineer essential to deliver timely and effective support.
YOUR TASKS
- Perform grid-quality checks using tools like Elspec analyzers and FFT signal evaluation to ensure compliance.
- Field-Installation of PQ-Recorder / accessing and evaluating remote or external PQ-Data Sources.
- Interpreting main converter / turbine control behavior within the electrical system context to understand and diagnose system performance.
- Identifying causes of electrical disturbances and recommending corrective actions to maintain grid stability.
- Creating standardized methodologies and supporting regions, project engineering, and R&D activities to boost efficiency.
- Immediate expert interaction is vital to resolve grid issues and prevent delays in commissioning or Customer handover.
- Master turbine control, park-control, MFR, converters, grid quality, and compliance standards.
- Support in project phase during Grid Code Testing and handover process to customers and grid operators.
- Reduce risk, ensure escalation handling, and protect project timelines and reputations.
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in grid code compliance, power quality analysis, or grid integration.
- Knowledge of grid requirements (e.g., FRT, GFM), turbine and park control systems, converters, and electrical networks.
- Experience with power quality measurement and analysis tools (e.g., Elspec, FFT analysis).
- Ability to interpret system behavior, identify root causes of disturbances, and define corrective actions.
- Familiar with grid testing, commissioning processes, and interaction with grid operators.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage complex technical issues and escalations.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
