Job summary

Decskill in Porto is seeking a Golang Backend Developer to join a project in Oporto. You will design and implement cloud-native backend services, build scalable microservices, and create RESTful APIs while collaborating with frontend teams and architects.

The role requires 2+ years of Go experience, Docker/Kubernetes familiarity, SQL/NoSQL knowledge, and English proficiency. Agile/Scrum experience and Azure knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years of backend development experience using Go (Golang).
• Experience building microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on Docker and containerized apps, Git version control.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum or SAFe.
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud-native solutions (nice to have).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (nice to have).
• Fluent in English (B2+).

We would like to meet a Golang Backend Developer for a project in Oporto.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve cloud‑native backend services using Go (Golang).
• Design and implement scalable, resilient microservices to support a global customer platform.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless communication between backend and frontend components.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product owners, architects and engineers to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to solution design and architecture decisions.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing, debugging, code reviews and development best practices.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, resolve defects and optimize application performance.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the reliability, scalability and availability of customer-facing applications.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in backend software development using Go (Golang).
• Experience developing and maintaining microservices-based applications.
• Strong experience designing, developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with software testing, debugging and version control (Git).
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum or SAFe.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud‑native solutions (nice to have).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and Kubernetes (nice to have).
• Knowledge of distributed systems and event‑driven architectures (nice to have).
• Knowledge of Angular or willingness to learn it (nice to have).
• Fluent in English (B2+ - is mandatory).
