Job summary

Decskill is seeking a senior Python backend developer to join our IT consulting team in a hybrid model with offices in Lisbon and Porto. You will design, develop, and maintain robust HTTP APIs and backend services using FastAPI and Django, while modelling data in SQL databases and optimising queries.

You will also own features across the lifecycle, contribute to secure coding practices, and participate in CI/CD pipelines within a global, multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in Python backend development.
• Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI and Django.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining reliable HTTP APIs and backend services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL-based databases, data modelling, and query optimisation.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in automated testing to ensure backend reliability and code quality.
• Experience owning features throughout the development lifecycle, from data model and API design to deployment and production support.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and the ability to identify and assess security threats during solution design.
• Experience working with Scrum methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Experience working in global or multicultural environments.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model, with office attendance as required.
