Job summary

Swiss Life Asset Managers in Lisbon is seeking a General Ledger Clerk to support G/L and Fixed Asset accounting. You will process journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with closings in an international setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in General Ledger and Fixed Asset processes.
• Fluent English and French for working in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Process daily journal entries, accruals, prepayments and other G/L adjustments.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.
• Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies with stakeholders.
• Maintain fixed asset records: capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and asset verification.
• Prepare audit documentation and support internal and external audits, ensuring proper filing of accounting records.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Divisional Accounting, and MDM to improve data accuracy and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

Support General Ledger and Fixed Asset accounting activities, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and company standards. Process daily journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other G/L adjustments while assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings. Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies with relevant stakeholders. Maintain fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and support physical asset verification processes. Prepare audit documentation, support internal and external audits, and ensure proper filing and retention of accounting records. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, Divisional Accounting, and MDM) to improve data accuracy, resolve issues, and drive process improvements and automation

Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in Accounting, preferably with exposure to General Ledger and Fixed Asset processes. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Proficiency in managing accounting records, reconciliations, and financial data accurately. Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, for working in an international environment. Fluent French communication skills, both written and spoken, for working in an international environment.
