Job summary

Swiss Life Asset Managers in Lisbon is hiring a General Ledger Clerk to support GL and Fixed Asset accounting in a cross-border, international setting. You will process journals, perform reconciliations, and assist with month-end closings, working with cross-functional teams to improve data accuracy and drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, has IFRS knowledge, and is fluent in English and French.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in Accounting, preferably with exposure to General Ledger and Fixed Asset processes.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Proficiency in managing accounting records, reconciliations, and financial data accurately.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, for working in an international environment.
• Fluent French communication skills, both written and spoken, for working in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Support General Ledger and Fixed Asset accounting activities, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and company standards.
• Process daily journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other G/L adjustments while assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
• Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and support physical asset verification processes.
• Prepare audit documentation, support internal and external audits, and ensure proper filing and retention of accounting records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, Divisional Accounting, and MDM) to improve data accuracy, resolve issues, and drive process improvements and automation
