Job summary

eXalt in Lisbon is seeking a Junior Fund Operations Analyst for a permanent hybrid role (2 days on site). You will learn the fund lifecycle from subscriptions to settlement in a high-control banking environment, with exposure to reconciliation, SWIFT, and fund operations.

The role suits candidates with 0-3 years in fund operations or middle office, with strong Excel and familiarity with Avaloq or SWIFT MT54X as a plus. English required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics or Business.
• 0–3 years in fund operations, middle office, reconciliation or custody.
• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
• Avaloq or SWIFT MT54X experience is a strong plus.
• Based in Lisbon or willing to relocate.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconciliation: Match fund and hedge fund positions and transactions with custodians, administrators and transfer agents.
• SWIFT: Verify and process MT54X settlement confirmations.
• Breaks: Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks.
• Coordination: Work daily with custodians, fund administrators and internal operations teams.
• Improvement: Support controls, audits, automation projects and UAT on system upgrades.
• Education: Learn the full fund lifecycle.
