Job summary

Intellias Porto is seeking an experienced full-stack engineer to drive end-to-end product features across React/TypeScript frontend and NestJS/Node.js backend. You will translate business needs into robust solutions, design reusable components, implement advanced data fetching, and ensure performance and accessibility.

Work with REST APIs, PostgreSQL data models, and strict TypeScript contracts across frontend and backend.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software development experience building production applications with TypeScript, React, Node.js and NestJS, or comparable technologies.
• Strong React and TypeScript skills, including component architecture, hooks, type safety, performance optimisation and responsive UI development using Vite, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui.
• Experience with TanStack Query, Zod, typed REST clients and shared frontend/backend contracts.
• Strong Node.js and NestJS skills, including dependency injection, runtime validation, business logic and REST API design.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge, including schema design, transactions and query optimisation, with experience using Prisma, TypeORM or MikroORM.
• Experience implementing OAuth2/OIDC, JWT/JWKS authentication, maintaining OpenAPI specifications and ensuring API contract quality.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing using Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library or Supertest.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals, application health probes and API Gateway integrations.
• Ability to deliver features end to end, translate business requirements into technical solutions, review code, troubleshoot issues and optimise application performance.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in Agile teams, providing technical guidance and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Drive the end-to-end development and delivery of product features across the React/TypeScript frontend and the NestJS/Node.js backend.
• Translate business and product requirements into robust, maintainable and scalable technical solutions.
• Design and develop reusable frontend components using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui.
• Implement advanced frontend data-fetching and state-management patterns using TanStack Query.
• Monitor and improve frontend performance, accessibility, responsiveness and user experience.
• Design and implement backend services and complex business logic using Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript.
• Design resource-oriented REST APIs and contribute to their documentation, versioning and lifecycle management through OpenAPI.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL data models, migrations, relationships, transactions and optimised queries using Prisma, TypeORM or MikroORM.
• Design shared schemas and type contracts across the frontend and backend, ensuring strict TypeScript boundaries and consistent runtime validation using Zod.
• Independently implement secure authentication and authorization flows, including OAuth2 Authorization Code with PKCE on the frontend and JWT/JWKS verification on the backend.
• Define and implement unit, integration, contract and end-to-end tests across the application.
• Contribute to test strategy, quality gates and the early identification of breaking changes.
• Build and maintain containerised applications using Docker and support their deployment in Kubernetes-hosted environments.
• Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering on API Gateway contracts, Kubernetes-hosted services and deployment requirements.
• Review pull requests, provide actionable technical feedback and support Junior Developers through pairing and knowledge sharing.
• Resolve technical ambiguity independently and proactively communicate risks, dependencies and blockers.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards, architecture, testing practices and delivery workflows.
