CTS Group in Viana do Castelo, Portugal is seeking a Financial Controller to join the Civil Engineering Project on-site. You will monitor and control the financial performance, working with multidisciplinary teams to support budgeting and cost control.

The role requires a degree in finance/economics, extensive experience in civil engineering projects, strong Excel skills and ERP knowledge. English fluency is mandatory, with health insurance and professional growth opportunities offered.

Qualificações

• Degree or equivalent in finance, economics, management, accounting, or engineering.
• Experience as Financial Controller or similar in civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of project cost control and budgeting.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Track project financial performance and deviations from budgets.
• Monitor cash flow, invoicing and contractual costs.
• Support cost control across subcontractors and procurement.
• Analyze variations and change orders and their financial impact.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports and cost information.
• Use Excel and ERP/financial reporting systems to analyze project data.
• Identify financial trends and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement and other teams.
• Provide accurate financial information to support planning and decision-making.

We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join our Civil Engineering Project in Viana do Castelo.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be responsible for monitoring and controlling the financial performance of the project, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Monitoring project costs, budgets and financial performance
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Tracking project financial performance and identifying deviations from approved budgets
• Monitoring project cash flow, invoicing and contractual costs
• Supporting cost control across subcontractors, procurement and project commitments
• Monitoring variations, change orders and their financial impact
• Preparing and maintaining financial reports and project cost information
• Using Microsoft Excel and ERP / financial reporting systems to analyse and manage project data
• Identifying financial trends, discrepancies and potential cost-control issues
• Working closely with engineering, construction, procurement and other project teams
• Providing accurate financial information to support project planning and decision-making

What are we looking for?

Your Technical And Professional Background

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Management, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Project Controller, Cost Controller or in a similar position
• Proven experience within civil engineering, construction or major infrastructure projects — essential
• Strong knowledge of project cost control
• Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Knowledge of project cash flow, invoicing and contractual cost control
• Experience working with subcontractors, procurement, variations and change orders is highly valued
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
• Advanced English — mandatory
