Job summary

The Standard, Lisbon is launching and seeks a Finance Intern to join the dynamic pre-opening team. You’ll support controls behind hotel revenue, payments and reporting, from setup before opening to daily close once operations begin.

Working with the Finance team, you’ll learn PMS/POS systems, assist with reconciliations, and help produce clear daily and weekly reporting. A keen eye for numbers and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Studying Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline
• Interest in hotel finance, income audit and financial controls
• Clear communication with colleagues across different hotel teams
• Curiosity, initiative and practical, hands-on approach
• Organised, accurate and attentive to detail, with confidence working with numbers and deadlines
• Team player eager to learn and take responsibility for following tasks through
• Discretion with financial information and confidentiality
• Comfortable with spreadsheets; familiarity with PMS, POS or finance system is a plus
• Good working knowledge of Portuguese and English; additional languages are a plus
• Flexible with working hours in line with internship programme and hotel reporting needs

Responsibilities

• Support pre-opening finance procedures and controls
• Assist with daily income audit and banking reconciliations
• Compare POS activity with PMS postings and resolve variances
• Contribute to daily and weekly finance reporting
• Learn hotel systems and reporting routines and ensure proper documentation
