Job summary

DataSmart is seeking an Expert Cloud Automation Developer (Hybrid – Lisbon) to architect, build, and operate scalable cloud automation solutions. You will craft IaC modules, Terraform templates, and automation workflows for Azure provisioning; develop self-service portals; integrate APIs with enterprise platforms; and lead secure CI/CD pipelines.

You will design cloud security controls, automate tests, and implement monitoring and observability across services, contributing to production

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of professional experience in an international company environment with senior-level technical knowledge across software development, cloud engineering, and automation.
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Azure cloud architecture, secure, scalable, and governed solutions.
• Strong experience developing reusable Terraform modules, templates, and automated workflows for cloud provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tools for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, policies, secrets management, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Experience integrating Azure services with GitHub, ServiceNow, identity providers, and other enterprise platforms through secure APIs and automation workflows.
• Expert knowledge of automated functional, regression, and deployment testing for applications, APIs, infrastructure components, and cloud services.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or equivalent scripting languages for operational automation.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting, and production support for cloud services.
• Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes, especially AKS.
• Ability to develop reusable self-service cloud products, automation services, APIs, and deployment patterns.
• Strong architectural decision-making, engineering standards, and technical leadership.
• Excellent collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable IaC modules, Terraform templates, and automation workflows for provisioning Azure resources.
• Develop full-stack self-service applications, portals, and backend services for cloud resource provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integrate cloud automation with Azure, GitHub, ServiceNow, identity services, and other platforms.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Implement cloud security and governance controls, including IAM, policy enforcement, secrets management, and auditability.
• Create and execute automated functional, regression, and deployment tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Automate recurring operational tasks and cloud management workflows using PowerShell or similar scripting languages.
• Integrate monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability into cloud automation products for production readiness.
• Support production operations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain cloud automation services lifecycle.
• Apply containerization and AKS to support containerized workloads.
• Establish technical standards and reusable design patterns for maintainability and scalability.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, security, and application teams across the organization to deliver secure solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, Terraform templates, and automation workflows for provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure resources.
• Develop full-stack self-service applications, portals, and backend services that simplify cloud resource provisioning and lifecycle management for application teams.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integrate cloud automation solutions with Azure, GitHub, ServiceNow, identity services, and other enterprise platforms.
• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools to automate the validation, testing, packaging, and deployment of infrastructure and software across environments.
• Implement cloud security and governance controls, including identity and access management, policy enforcement, secrets management, and auditability.
• Create and execute automated functional, regression, and deployment tests to ensure the quality, reliability, and security of applications, APIs, infrastructure modules, and cloud services.
• Automate recurring operational tasks and cloud management workflows using PowerShell or equivalent scripting languages.
• Integrate monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities into cloud automation products to ensure production readiness and reliability.
• Support production operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage the ongoing maintenance and lifecycle of cloud automation services.
• Apply containerization and Kubernetes fundamentals, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), to support containerized workloads.
• Establish technical standards, reusable design patterns, and implementation guidelines that promote maintainability, scalability, and consistency across cloud services.
• Identify and implement improvements that reduce manual intervention, operational complexity, and cloud service delivery times.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, security, and application teams across Saint-Gobain’s international organization to deliver secure and scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications:

• Professional Experience: At least 10 years of professional experience in an international company environment, with strong senior-level technical knowledge across software development, cloud engineering, and automation.
