Job summary

DataSmart in Lisbon invites a Cloud Automation Developer to design and implement Terraform modules, IaC and CI/CD for Azure-based platforms. You will build REST APIs, automate cloud tasks, and integrate with GitHub, ServiceNow and identity services in a hybrid setup.

You will work with platform engineers and application teams to promote reusable solutions, strengthen security, and ensure production readiness. Fluency in English and a strong Azure background are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in an international company environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and public-cloud architecture.
• Solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Java and Spring for backend development.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, governance, and secrets management.
• Experience integrating APIs and platforms across Azure, GitHub, ServiceNow, and identity services.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or equivalent scripting languages for automation.
• Experience implementing automated testing for applications, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting, and production operations.
• Experience supporting data processing and analytics services (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Explorer, Stream Analytics, Event Hubs, Event Grid, IoT Hub).
• Knowledge of Azure storage and databases (Data Lake Storage Gen2, Storage Accounts, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with additional Azure services (Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, AI Foundry, AKS, API Management, App Service, Logic Apps, Application Insights, Log Analytics).
• Understanding of containerized workloads and Kubernetes, particularly AKS.
• English proficiency at C1 level or higher.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model in Lisbon.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules, Infrastructure as Code templates, and automation workflows for Azure resource provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Build full-stack self-service applications, backend services, and REST APIs that simplify cloud consumption and automate recurring operational tasks.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to validate, test, package, and deploy infrastructure and application changes across environments.
• Integrate Azure services with GitHub, ServiceNow, identity platforms, and other enterprise systems.
• Implement cloud security and governance capabilities, including identity and access management, policy enforcement, secrets management, and auditability.
• Develop automated functional, regression, and deployment tests for applications, APIs, infrastructure modules, and cloud services.
• Support and improve automation for data processing and analytics services, ensuring reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and documentation to ensure production readiness and maintainability.
• Collaborate with platform engineers, architects, and application teams to promote reusable solutions, improve developer experience, and reduce operational complexity.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve cloud automation products and platform capabilities.
