Job summary

Boston Consulting Group in Lisbon seeks a Director to lead the Projects and Change capability within ES Service Excellence and drive delivery across a growing portfolio of initiatives. You will apply GenAI and other technologies to improve performance and cost efficiency while shaping scalable, future‑proof ways of working.

You will manage cross‑country programs, partner with senior leaders, and mentor a small team, building disciplined playbooks and strong stakeholder alignment across the firm.

Qualifications

• 10-12+ years leading projects and change initiatives with measurable improvements.
• Experience across countries, functions and seniority in complex global orgs.
• Tech-enabled transformation experience, incl. Gen AI, automation, and digital products.
• Certifications in PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, Prosci or Agile advantageous.
• Experience at a professional services firm is advantageous.

What You'll Do

As a Director, you will lead the Projects and Change capability within ES Service Excellence and manage delivery across a growing set of change initiatives. As ES expands existing services, develops new offerings, and applies technologies such as GenAI and ServiceNow to improve operational performance and cost efficiency, you will provide the project and change leadership required to turn these opportunities into sustainable ways of working.

You Will

• Personally lead and oversee multiple projects across ES service lines simultaneously, partnering with service line leaders to define and deliver business outcomes.
• Bring a strategic lens to each project, stepping back from the detail to clarify desired outcomes and keep priorities aligned to the broader ES agenda.
• Ensure disciplined delivery against time, scope, and value; actively managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior sponsors, providing clear decision support, constructively challenging assumptions, resolving cross‑functional issues, and building alignment across local, regional, and global stakeholders.
• Lead and develop a team of three project and change professionals, setting direction and accountability, strengthening capability, managing performance, and supporting career development.
• Own and improve ES project and change management playbooks, and build capability across ES through coaching, practical tools, learning resources, and lessons from major initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

• 10-12+ years of experience leading projects and change initiatives that delivered measurable improvements in efficiency, service quality, or organizational effectiveness.
• Proven success operating across countries, functions, and seniority levels in a complex, matrixed global organization.
• Practical experience with technology‑enabled transformation, including Gen AI, automation, and digital products, and effective partnership with product and engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of project and change management methodologies; relevant certifications are advantageous (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, Prosci, Agile).
• Experience at BCG or another professional services firm is advantageous.
