Job summary

Quanteam, founding entity of RAINBOW PARTNERS, is seeking an Engineering Manager in Lisbon. You will lead international engineering teams across Germany and Portugal, driving delivery of core business systems with focus on quality and continuous improvement.

You will mentor engineers, provide technical direction, and work with Product Owners to translate business priorities into delivery plans. Hybrid work in Lisbon, CTI permanent contract, with health insurance and development programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering or related tech role.
• Experience leading engineers or engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of software quality and maintainability.
• Ability to translate priorities into realistic delivery plans.

We are looking for a Engineering Manager

• As an Engineering Manager, you will work in an international environment with engineering teams across Germany and Portugal, supporting the development and delivery of core business systems.
• The role combines people leadership, technical understanding and delivery ownership, with a strong focus on engineering quality, sustainable delivery and continuous improvement.
• Own delivery execution and contribute to the alignment with the technology roadmap;
• Ensure sustainable, predictable and high-quality software delivery;
• Lead, coach and develop engineers, including feedback, staffing and performance management;
• Provide technical direction and promote engineering best practices within the team;
• Drive engineering quality, maintainability, testability and operational excellence;
• Work closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate business priorities into realistic delivery plans;
• Act as the technical counterpart to the Product Owner;
• Contribute to technology strategy, standardization and continuous improvement initiatives;
• Foster a collaborative, accountable and improvement-oriented engineering culture;
• Participate actively in the day-to-day work of agile product teams.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, QA engineering or another comparable technical role;
• Previous experience leading, coaching or developing engineers or engineering teams;
• Proven ability to combine people leadership, technical judgment and delivery ownership;
• Strong understanding of software quality, maintainability, testability and operational excellence;
• Ability to translate business priorities into realistic and sustainable engineering execution;
• Experience working closely with Product Owners, Agile Leads and business stakeholders;
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative and accountable approach;
• Experience in Agile environments;
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
