Emma – The Sleep Company is seeking a Customs Expert to own end-to-end customs compliance across Europe for the Tax & Customs team. You will classify products by HS code, maintain the AEO status, and serve as the single point of contact with customs authorities to keep shipments compliant and moving.

Reporting to the Head of Customs, you will collaborate with Operations, Transportation, Strategic Procurement and Product Development, drive timely tax assessments and duties, and develop SOPs

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree mandatory; field doesn't restrict fit.
• 5+ years of customs brokerage experience across multiple countries.
• Ability to check import/export requirements by HS code and country.
• Hands-on HS classification experience to determine correct classification.
• AEO knowledge or experience with German customs is a plus.
• Clear, structured communication and end-to-end ownership of tasks.
• Fluent in English; German at B2 level is advantageous.

• Own import and export customs compliance across EU, UK and Switzerland.
• Classify products by HS code and determine correct treatment.
• Maintain Emma's AEO status and develop related SOPs.
• Act as single contact for customs offices, with Germany as primary authority.
• Create supplier declarations and ensure accuracy across documents.
• Drive on-time tax assessments and duty/VAT payments; minimize delays.
• Support intermodal transports and monitor fulfillment for compliance.
• Partner with Operations, Transportation, Procurement and Product teams.
