Job summary

ITDS in Lisbon/Porto-based team is seeking a Senior DevSecOps & AI Automation Engineer to advance secure, scalable automation platforms for financial services. The role focuses on automation transformation, self-service provisioning, and governance-driven AI operations across the DevOps lifecycle.

You will enhance CI/CD, IaC, GitOps, container platforms, and observability while reducing toil and improving DORA metrics. Fluency in English and EU work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent field.
• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or related roles.
• 3+ years driving innovation and architectural improvements.
• Expert in IaC and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Strong Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, Git, and multi-cloud skills.
• Experience with security automation (SAST/DAST, secrets, policy-as-code).
• Proficiency in Python/Go/Java/Bash and REST APIs.
• Familiar with observability, logging, APM, tracing.

Responsibilities

Unleash intelligent automation — engineer secure, scalable platforms that transform DevOps for financial services!

Lisbon- or Porto-based opportunity with a hybrid work model, including up to 2 remote days per week.

As a Senior DevSecOps & AI Automation Engineer, you will be working for our client, a financial services organization supporting Corporate & Investment Banking and Asset & Wealth Management. You will join an Innovation & Development team focused on automation transformation, self-service platform engineering, secure software delivery, and AI-driven operations across the development and deployment ecosystem.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design and implement CI/CD pipeline automation, infrastructure-as-code, GitOps practices, and automated security validation gates.
• Engineer and optimize containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Lead innovation lab activities, prototype emerging technologies, and assess advancements in service mesh, policy-as-code, and observability.
• Build and maintain self-service platform capabilities that enable secure resource provisioning, deployments, and rollbacks without manual intervention.
• Improve developer experience by reducing operational friction, measuring developer toil, and establishing fast feedback loops.
• Drive improvements in DORA metrics, including deployment frequency, lead time, recovery time, and change failure rate.
• Develop AI-driven automation for infrastructure provisioning and incident remediation, supported by appropriate governance and permission frameworks.
• Promote knowledge transfer and support the adoption of innovative technologies across development teams.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a related role.
• At least 3 years of experience driving innovation, prototyping technologies, or leading architectural improvements.
• Expert-level experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux/Unix administration, Git, and multi-cloud environments.
• Practical experience with security automation, including SAST/DAST, container security, secrets management, and policy-as-code.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or Bash, as well as REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience with observability tools and practices, including centralized logging, APM, and distributed tracing.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of AI agents, LLMs in operations, agent governance, sandboxing, or hybrid human-AI workflows.
• Exposure to LangChain or AutoGen.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, Jaeger, or New Relic.
