Job summary

Tieto in Lisbon is seeking an experienced Apache Kafka DevOps Engineer to join our data platform team. You will administer and optimize the streaming platform and drive continuous improvement in a critical data infrastructure.

You will work on cluster architecture, security controls, JVM tuning, and storage management, collaborating with international teams in Portuguese and English. The role requires proven Kafka administration and strong Azure skills, with a passion for reliable, scalable data

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Apache Kafka administration.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and evolve the Apache Kafka platform.
• Work on cluster architecture, including Brokers, KRaft, replication, and min.insync.replicas.
• Configure and manage Kafka Connect and Schema Registry using Avro and JSON.
• Implement and maintain security controls, including mTLS and ACLs.
• Optimize platform performance through JVM tuning, retention settings, and cleanup policies.
• Manage storage solutions and Persistent Volumes.
• Troubleshoot incidents and drive continuous platform improvement.
