Claranet Portugal is seeking an Apache Kafka DevOps Engineer to join a technical team managing a critical data platform in Portugal. The role focuses on administering and evolving Kafka deployments, ensuring secure and scalable operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates will have Kafka administration experience, strong Azure knowledge, and fluency in Portuguese and English. A collaborative, learning-driven environment with regular team events awaits.

Responsabilidades

• Administer and evolve the Apache Kafka platform.
• Work on cluster architecture, including Brokers, KRaft, replication, and min.insync.replicas.
• Configure and manage Kafka Connect and Schema Registry using Avro / JSON.
• Implement security controls such as mTLS and ACLs.
• Tune platform performance, including JVM, retention, and cleanup policies.
• Manage storage and Persistent Volumes.
• Support incident resolution and continuous platform improvement.

Your responsibilities include:

• Administer and evolve the Apache Kafka platform
• Work on cluster architecture, including Brokers, KRaft, replication, and min.insync.replicas
• Configure and manage Kafka Connect and Schema Registry using Avro / JSON
• Implement security controls such as mTLS and ACLs
• Tune platform performance, including JVM, retention, and cleanup policies
• Manage storage and Persistent Volumes
• Support incident resolution and continuous platform improvement

You must have:

• Experience in Apache Kafka administration
• Strong knowledge of Azure
• Fluent in Portuguese and English
• Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills
