Job summary

Tieto in Lisbon seeks an experienced Apache Kafka DevOps Engineer to administer and evolve a critical data streaming platform. You will join a hands-on team to ensure reliability and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include cluster architecture, Kafka Connect/SR, security with mTLS and ACLs, and JVM tuning, with strong collaboration across teams and fluency in Portuguese and English.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Apache Kafka administration.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
• Fluency in both Portuguese and English.
• Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and evolve the Apache Kafka platform.
• Work on cluster architecture, including Brokers, KRaft, replication, and min.insync.replicas.
• Configure and manage Kafka Connect and Schema Registry using Avro and JSON.
• Implement and maintain security controls, including mTLS and ACLs.
• Optimize platform performance through JVM tuning, retention settings, and cleanup policies.
• Manage storage solutions and Persistent Volumes.
• Troubleshoot incidents and drive continuous platform improvement.
