Clear. is seeking an experienced M&E Cost Manager to support a major data centre project in Sines, Portugal. The role is fully site-based, Monday to Friday, with no rotation.

The ideal candidate will have strong M&E cost management experience on large-scale construction projects and data centre environments, plus fluent English. You will prepare cost plans, manage budgets, forecast costs and present reports to clients and senior stakeholders, while ensuring adherence to contractual procedures

Qualificações

• Support settlement of final accounts and evaluation of tenders.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate cost management into delivery.

M&E Cost Manager - Data Centre

Location: Sines, Portugal (no rotation on offer)

Salary: Up to €90k + package

Our client is a leading international consultancy operating across the construction and infrastructure sector, supporting major projects across Europe and globally. They are currently looking to strengthen their cost management team with an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Cost Manager to support the delivery of a major data centre project in Portugal. This is a fully site-based position, Monday to Friday in Sines, with no rotation or fly-in/fly-out arrangement.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting senior leadership in delivering business and project objectives
• Managing the delivery of high-quality M&E cost management services in line with client requirements
• Managing projects in accordance with established business procedures and quality standards
• Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates, option studies and cost plans
• Managing project budgets, forecasting and cost planning
• Undertaking cost-in-use studies and financial assessments
• Evaluating and reporting on tenders
• Valuing completed works and arranging payments
• Supporting the settlement of final accounts
• Administering contracts in roles such as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent
• Producing and presenting cost management reports to clients and senior stakeholders
• Working closely with project teams to integrate cost management into the wider project delivery strategy
• Identifying and managing cost-related risks and opportunities
• Supporting profitable and effective service delivery
• Advising senior leadership of any issues that may impact project delivery or professional risk

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong M&E cost management experience on large-scale construction projects
• Experience working within data centres, mission-critical or similarly complex environments
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and installations
• Understanding of engineering specifications and industry standards relevant to data centre projects
• Good knowledge of construction procurement and tendering strategies
• Strong post-contract cost management experience
• Experience with contract administration and/or Employer's Agent responsibilities
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
• Strong commercial, financial and numerical ability
• A methodical and organised approach, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements
• Good understanding of legislation relevant to building contracts
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team
• Fluent English
• Availability to work on-site in Sines 5 days per week

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
