BASEYARD in Braga, Portugal, invites a strategic Head of Engineering & Technical Operations to assemble and lead its technical organisation on-site. You will oversee R&D, NPI, Technical Project Management, IT, and Technical Support, ensuring projects are technically robust and aligned with the company’s growth path.

The role requires strong leadership, experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary programs, and the ability to scale engineering capabilities across products and customer

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Robotics, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in engineering, R&D, technical operations, or technology development.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and complex engineering projects.

Responsabilidades

• Build and lead BASEYARD’s Engineering & Technical Operations organization from the ground up.
• Lead and coordinate R&D, NPI, Technical Project Management, IT, and Technical Support functions.
• Establish engineering processes, technical governance, project management methodologies, and technical standards.
• Lead technical evaluation and onboarding of new customer projects.
• Assess customer products, technical maturity, documentation, requirements, risks, and readiness for industrialisation.
• Coordinate New Product Introduction from assessment through prototype, pilot production, and transfer to Operations.
• Ensure effective coordination between customers, Engineering, Production, QHSE, Supply Chain, and external partners.
• Establish and lead Technical Project Management processes covering scope, milestones, resources, risks, deliverables, and changes.
• Ensure customer projects meet scope, schedule, quality, and technical requirements.
• Lead internal R&D and development of proprietary technologies and products.
• Define R&D priorities, roadmaps, technical concepts, and development programmes.
