TECEZE in Porto, Portugal is seeking a Techno-Functional Business Analyst with exposure to Agricultural Commodity Trading to support a strategic program building a centralized Data Lake platform. The role focuses on translating business needs into data models, pipelines, and analytics products with close collaboration across stakeholders.

You will work with data engineers, architects, governance teams and product owners to define data requirements, validate data quality, and enable data products

Qualificações

• Strong understanding of Finance, Accounting & Controlling, Treasury, Risk, and Compliance operations within a trading company.
• Ability to read and interpret accounting and financial data.
• Hands-on experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or reporting implementation projects.
• Basic understanding of software development processes.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and data analysis.

Responsabilidades

Job Description – Business Analyst

Position

Business Analyst – Techno-Functional / Data

• Contract Duration: 1 Year contract
• Location: Porto, Portugal

Job Summary

We are looking for a Techno-Functional Business Analyst with experience or exposure to Agricultural Commodity Trading to support a strategic enterprise program focused on building a centralized and scalable Data Lake platform.

The Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, architects, governance teams, and product owners to understand business needs, define data requirements, and support the development of high-value data products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Data Requirements

• Gather, document, and manage business and data requirements.
• Translate business requirements into:
• Data models
• Data product requirements
• User stories and acceptance criteria

2. Data Analysis & Insights

• Analyze data sources to assess:
• Data quality
• Data completeness
• Requirement fit
• Use SQL to analyze and interpret business data.

3. Data Lake & Product Enablement

• Work with data engineering teams to define:
• Source-to-target mappings
• Data pipeline requirements
• Metadata definitions
• Support data product development and implementation.

4. Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with business teams, data engineers, architects, product owners, and governance teams.
• Facilitate workshops to identify valuable data use cases and analytics requirements.
• Align stakeholders on priorities, scope, and expected outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Must Have:

• Strong understanding of Finance, Accounting & Controlling, Treasury, Risk, and Compliance operations within a trading company.
• Ability to read and interpret accounting and financial data.
• Hands-on experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or reporting implementation projects.
• Basic understanding of software development processes.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience working with a back-office ERP system such as SAP.
• Experience or exposure to Agricultural Commodity Trading is preferred.

Good to Have

• Experience building reports using BI platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance tools.
• Experience working with data engineering and data product teams.
