Job summary

Optiwisers in Portugal is seeking an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to join a strategic Cloud Platform team responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving enterprise-scale AWS Foundation Services.

The role blends cloud engineering, DevOps and automation, with a strong focus on platform reliability, governance and reducing manual work through automation. You will troubleshoot complex environments, strengthen security and drive automation for resilient cloud services.

Qualifications

Must have hands-on AWS in production environments.
Practical experience with Terraform, Python and GitHub Actions.
Experience with AWS Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
Knowledge of IAM, AWS Organizations, SCPs and cloud governance.
Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and deployment issues.
Understanding of cloud security, vulnerability management and remediation.

Responsibilities

Support, maintain and enhance AWS Foundation Services across enterprise-scale environments.
Investigate and resolve production incidents and deployment failures.
Troubleshoot AWS services using CloudWatch, CloudTrail and metrics.
Maintain Terraform deployments, GitHub Actions pipelines and serverless functions.
Manage IAM policies, service roles, Organizations and SCPs.
Ensure cloud governance and security standards are met.
Develop automation solutions using Python, Terraform and AWS serverless services.
Produce RCA reports and maintain runbooks and knowledge articles.
Lead communication with customers and stakeholders per SLAs.
Collaborate with Agile/Scrum teams using GitHub, Jira and Confluence.
