Job summary

Preh Portugal (Trofa) is seeking an Automation and Control Engineer to join our growing team. You will develop and maintain automotive automation systems, focusing on Siemens PLCs, HMI (WinCC), and C#/.NET applications, and collaborate across international projects.

You will implement PROFINET, ET 200 I/O, and safety routines, integrate robotics from KUKA, and contribute to system architecture, commissioning, and technical documentation in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Development and programming of Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal.
• Configuration and integration of Siemens distributed I/O and automation peripherals;
• Development and implementation of HMI solutions within the Siemens ecosystem;
• System integration using PROFINET and other industrial communication protocols;
• Implementation and integration of applications developed in C# (.NET);
• Integration of automation equipment, drives, sensors, vision systems, and industrial robots;
• Definition of the technical architecture for automation projects;
• Commissioning of the developed equipment;
• Preparation of technical documentation.

About the Role

As a Automation and Control Engineer, you will be part of our growing team at Preh Portugal (Trofa), contributing to the development and maintenance of innovative automotive technologies. You'll work in a dynamic, international environment, using the latest tools and platforms to tackle real-world challenges.

The Challenges in Front of You

• Development and programming of Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal;
• Configuration and integration of Siemens distributed I/O and automation peripherals;

• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal;
• Experience programming Siemens SIMATIC PLCs, particularly S7-1200 / S7-1500;
• Knowledge of Siemens distributed I/O systems, such as ET 200;
• Experience with PROFINET and industrial communication networks;
• Knowledge of C# and .NET;
• Good development practices (software version control, testing, modularity);
• Ability to read technical documentation.
• Experience with Siemens Safety / F-CPUs and safety programming; (Desirable)
• Experience with Siemens HMI / WinCC; (Desirable)
• Programming of industrial robots, particularly KUKA; (Desirable)
• Knowledge of machine vision systems; (Desirable)
• Knowledge of CAN and LIN protocols. (Desirable)
