Job summary

Preh Portugal in Trofa is seeking a Quality Engineer for Electronics and Testing Laboratory to contribute to development and maintenance of automotive technologies. You will work in an international environment, diagnosing defects, validating changes, calibrating equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

You will apply hands-on electronics experience, CAN/LIN protocol knowledge, and strong problem-solving in a collaborative setting with the Preh Group laboratories.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
• 1–2 years in electronics, quality engineering, or product development
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities
• Basic CAN/LIN knowledge and MS Office proficiency; SAP is a plus

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve quality issues affecting products and processes.
• Validate changes to ensure compliance with requirements and maintain quality in production.
• Calibrate and maintain measuring/monitoring equipment.
• Ensure compliance with quality regulations, ESD procedures, and standards; prepare quality reports.
• Assist with firmware flashing and programming for electronic boards.
• Collaborate with other Preh Group laboratories to share best practices.

About The Role

As a Quality Engineer - Electronics & Testing Laboratory, you will be part of our growing team at Preh Portugal (Trofa), contributing to the development and maintenance of innovative automotive technologies.

You’ll work in a dynamic, international environment, using the latest tools and platforms to tackle real‑world challenges.

The Challenges in Front of You

• Diagnose and resolve quality issues affecting products and processes. Investigate internal and customer defects, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Validate product changes, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and maintaining quality during production.
• Calibrate and maintain measuring and monitoring equipment in accordance with internal standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with quality regulations, ESD procedures, and industry standards. Prepare and maintain internal measurement and quality reports.
• Support firmware flashing and programming operations for electronic boards.
• Maintain strong collaboration with other laboratories within the Preh Group.

What You Bring to the Table

You're more than your resume, you're passionate for excellence, proactive, and growth‑minded. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electromechanics, or a related technical discipline.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in electronics, quality engineering, or product development.
• A knack for software programming and automation (a strong plus).
• Working knowledge of CAN/LIN communication protocols.
• A solid grasp of quality standards, methodologies, and root‑cause problem‑solving techniques.
• Confidence working with Microsoft Office tools; SAP know‑how is a welcome advantage.
• Strong communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus.
