Amaris Consulting is an independent technology consulting firm delivering guidance and solutions to clients worldwide. We are seeking an API test automation engineer to design and execute comprehensive test strategies across API gateways, MuleSoft middleware, and backend services.

You will work in an international context, collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to robust automation frameworks within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Qualificações

• Experience in API test automation and validation in complex backend integration environments.
• Experience with API Gateway platforms, preferably MuleSoft.
• Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, and JMeter.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration and tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Academic background: degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• English fluent. (Other languages are a plus.)
• You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design and execute test strategies for APIs and backend APIs via API Gateway.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across distributed systems.
• Validate API behavior: auth, tokens, errors, and edge cases.
• Ensure APIs meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.
• Develop and maintain API testing automation frameworks.
• Implement automated test suites with Postman, REST Assured, Karate, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, and JMeter.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test data.
• Validate API Gateway configurations, routing rules and policies.
• Test end-to-end flows across API Gateway, middleware (MuleSoft), and backend services.
• Identify and troubleshoot integration issues across systems.

Your missions

• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for custom-developed APIs and backend APIs exposed via API Gateway
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across distributed systems
• Validate API behavior including authentication, authorization (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys), request/response transformations, error handling, and edge cases
• Ensure APIs meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks for API testing
• Implement automated test suites using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, and JMeter
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain reusable test data and mock services
• Validate API configurations in the API Gateway layer, including routing rules and policies (rate limiting, security, transformation)
• Test end-to-end flows across API Gateway, middleware (e.g., MuleSoft), and backend services
• Identify and troubleshoot integration issues across systems

Your profile

• Experience in API test automation and validation in complex backend integration environments
• Experience with API Gateway platforms, preferably MuleSoft
• Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Karate, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, and JMeter
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration and tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
