Job summary

Amadeus is seeking a Senior AI UX Designer in Lisbon to craft airport experiences that blend human insight with AI. You will shape intuitive interfaces for kiosks, boarding systems, and self-service touchpoints across a global traveler base.

You will use AI to accelerate prototyping, ideation, and testing, collaborating with product managers, designers, engineers, and AI specialists to deliver smarter travel solutions.

Qualifications

• 6 years of UX experience with complex digital interfaces.
• Experience shaping UX through research, prototyping and testing.
• Ability to integrate AI into the design process and storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Design user experiences for airport and passenger-facing products like kiosks and self-service touchpoints.
• Leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate prototyping and exploration in UX.
• Conduct user research, interviews, and journey mapping to meet traveler and business needs.
• Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes using Figma and AI-assisted platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX and 3D Designers, R&D Engineers, and AI specialists.
• Document workflows and best practices for AI-assisted UX design across global teams.
• Present concepts and recommendations through clear storytelling and visuals.
• Stay updated on new AI design tools and workflows to boost creativity.

In this role, you’ll

• Design user experiences for airport and passenger-facing products such as kiosks, boarding systems, and self-service touchpoints.
• Use AI tools, agents, and automation workflows to enhance productivity, prototyping, and concept exploration in the UX process.
• Conduct user research, interviews, and journey mapping to ensure designs meet traveler, business, and technical needs.
• Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma and other AI-assisted design platforms.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX and 3D Designers, R&D Engineers, and AI specialists throughout the design lifecycle.
• Document workflows, principles, and best practices for AI-assisted UX design and share knowledge with global design teams.
• Present concepts, insights, and recommendations through clear storytelling and visual communication.
• Stay up to date with new AI design tools, trends, and workflows that enhance efficiency and creative exploration.
• Participate in cross-functional workshops and ideation sessions focused on the passenger experience.

About the ideal candidate

• Experienced UX professional (typically 6 years) with a strong foundation in user-centered design and experience creating complex digital interfaces.
• Skilled in research, prototyping, usability testing, and design documentation using Figma or similar tools.
• Experienced in using AI tools or agents to accelerate creative work, automate tasks, or explore design alternatives.
• Proactive and curious about integrating AI ethically and meaningfully into design processes.
• Strong storytelling and collaboration skills, able to communicate ideas effectively across diverse technical and design teams.
• Comfortable working in evolving, multidisciplinary, and global environments.
• Fluent in English; other languages are an advantage in a global environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for user research, testing, and collaboration activities at airports or innovation centers.
