Decskill, an IT consulting company with over 10 years of experience, part of the Astek Group, with 800+ professionals in Lisbon, Porto, and Madrid, is hiring an AI Principal Founding Engineer. You will design and scale production-grade AI agent systems for high-stakes financial workflows and architect autonomous runtimes with human-in-the-loop validation.

Qualificações

• Proven experience building production-grade software with reliability.
• Experience with AI Agents, LLM-based apps, and orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on with TypeScript and/or Python.
• Strong AWS knowledge (ECS/Fargate, SQS, Secrets Manager, Bedrock).
• Advanced PostgreSQL with Row-Level Security and multi-tenancy.
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems and ERP platforms.
• Excellent communication for pre-sales and stakeholder mapping.

We are looking for an AI Principal Founding Engineer!

Responsabilities:

• Design, build, and scale production-grade AI agent systems for high-stakes financial workflows.
• Architect autonomous agent runtimes, including planning, tool orchestration, reviewer loops, and confidence-based decision making.
• Develop robust integrations with enterprise platforms, ERPs, and financial systems.
• Design secure, auditable write paths with human-in-the-loop validation and comprehensive audit trails.
• Build evaluation frameworks, observability, and testing strategies for LLM-based systems.
• Drive technical architecture and engineering best practices across the platform.
• Collaborate closely with product, founders, and customers to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions.
• Validate solutions in real production environments rather than relying solely on mocks or simulations.
• Lead technical discussions with enterprise customers and support pre-sales activities, including solution design, technical discovery, architecture workshops, product demonstrations, and communicating the value and limitations of AI systems.

Requirements:

• Strong experience building production-grade software systems where reliability and correctness are critical.
• Proven expertise with AI Agents, LLM-based applications, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript and/or Python.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, including services such as ECS/Fargate, SQS, Secrets Manager, and Bedrock.
• Advanced PostgreSQL experience, including Row-Level Security (RLS), multi-tenancy, and database design.
• Experience with Claude Code, Claude Agent SDK/API, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
• Strong analytical and first-principles problem-solving skills.
• Ability to distinguish deterministic business logic from probabilistic AI reasoning.Experience integrating with enterprise systems, APIs, and ERP platforms.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both engineering and business stakeholders.
• Customer-facing experience, with the ability to support pre-sales engagements, understand customer requirements, propose technical solutions, and build trust with enterprise clients.
• A continuous learning mindset and the ability to critically evaluate emerging AI technologies and research.
