Alpineo Consulting in Portugal is seeking a Mid/Senior Software Engineer to champion AI-assisted development while working across modern C#/.NET and legacy COBOL/Delphi/WinDev stacks. You will lead by example, configure AI agent setups, and help the team adopt practical AI tooling to accelerate delivery.

The role involves building features, modernizing legacy code, and mentoring peers in AI-enabled practices within an Agile environment.

Qualificações

• 4 to 6 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and with configuring rules/instructions.
• Experience building agentic workflows, MCP servers or custom AI tooling.
• Willingness to work with legacy technologies (COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro, WinDev).
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Practical experience writing automated tests (unit/integration/end-to-end).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile practices.

Responsabilidades

• Lead by example in daily use of AI coding agents across development, testing, documentation, and code review.
• Develop, maintain and evolve applications across modern and legacy stacks (C#/.NET to COBOL/Delphi/WinDev).
• Use AI agents to analyze, document and explain legacy code, business rules and data flows.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives and migrations from legacy systems to modern architectures.
• Design, develop and maintain features across backend and frontend; emphasize SOLID principles and good architecture.
• Mentor engineers in AI-assisted development practices.
