Job summary

emagine seeks a Mid/Senior Software Engineer to drive AI adoption across the team, leading by example with AI coding agents daily. You’ll work on both modern .NET/C# stacks and legacy COBOL/Delphi code, applying AI to modernize and document decades‑old systems.

You’ll join a hands-on team that values curiosity, cross‑functional collaboration and practical AI tooling, balancing development of new features with modernization of existing platforms.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code, including configuration and rules management.
• Experience building agentic workflows or custom AI tooling.
• Willingness to work with legacy technologies (COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro, WinDev).
• Strong experience with at least one modern stack, ideally C# / .NET and/or React/TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Practical experience writing automated tests (unit/integration/e2e).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily use of AI coding agents across development, testing and code review.
• Configure and maintain agent setups for the team: rules, prompts and workflows.
• Share knowledge through demos, pair programming and internal workshops.
• Identify repetitive tasks and propose practical AI-driven improvements.
• Help shape design and architecture of our modern stack and assist modernization of legacy systems.
