Bloq.it is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Portugal. You\'ll manage day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain ledgers, and ensure compliance across local and international regulations.

This role requires fluency in English and Portuguese, experience in an international setting, and comfort with ERP systems (Odoo preferred). We offer a remote-friendly policy, flexible hours, health insurance, and a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

Qualificações

• 3+ years' experience as an Accountant or similar role.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Experience in an international environment and IFRS/GAAP knowledge.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and ERP implementation from a financial perspective (Odoo preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Handle daily accounting tasks including AP, AR and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow).
• Support audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting standards.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting with variance analysis.
• Develop and enforce internal control policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify process improvements to optimize financial operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on financial matters.

Fair warning: we're scaling fast and the data and reporting capabilities are scaling with us. You'll often need to pull from multiple systems and build the picture yourself before you can analyse it. If you need everything pre-structured to do good work, this isn't the role.

What you’ll be doing:

• Handle daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, receivable and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance;

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets and cash flow analyses;

• Support audits and maintain compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards;

• Support the creation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analysis on variances and recommendations for improvement;

• Develop and implement internal control policies, ensuring compliance with local and international financial regulations;

• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize financial operations and reporting efficiency;

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth financial operations and fiscal compliance.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• 3+ years of experience;

• Fluent in English and Portuguese;

• Demonstrated experience as an Accountant or similar role, preferably in an international environment;

• Familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to expedite their implementation from financial perspective (preferably Odoo but not mandatory);

• Effective communications skills to collaborate with senior team members and present financial insights;

• A proactive and solution-oriented approach to address challenges and optimize financial operations;

• Understanding of international tax regulations, IFRS and local GAAP.

It would be great if you would also have:

• Odoo ERP knowledge;

• Excel skills.
