Bloq.it in Lisbon is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams of backend, frontend, and firmware engineers, shaping the next generation of smart locker infrastructure. You’ll drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, ensure code quality with SOLID, TDD, and design patterns, and partner with product managers to align work with business goals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role rewards initiative, growth, and measurable impact across Europe.

Qualificações

• Proven experience as an engineering manager or similar leadership role.
• Hands-on software engineering background required.
• Experience hiring and growing teams.
• Strong leadership and communication skills in English.
• Expertise with SOLID, TDD, design patterns.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage a multi‑skilled team of backend, frontend, and firmware engineers
• Set clear team and individual objectives, and provide ongoing performance feedback and development
• Build and empower a team to deliver creative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems
• Collaborate closely with other Engineering leads to bring continuous improvements and take our Engineering organisation to a new level
• Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards
• Ensure that the code produced is aligned with the best practices and standards in the industry (such as following SOLID principles and containing a healthy level of test coverage)
• Collaborate with Product Managers and other EMs to align our engineering efforts with business goals
• Focus on the professional and personal growth of your team, including conducting performance and compensation reviews

We are in search of an Engineering Manager to join our innovative team as our new #bloqstar. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in leading teams of talented engineers to develop, enhance, and maintain our cutting‑edge smart locker solutions on several fronts of our Solution.

Fair warning: we're scaling fast and the data and reporting capabilities are scaling with us. You'll often need to pull from multiple systems and build the picture yourself before you can analyse it. If you need everything pre‑structured to do good work, this isn't the role.

What You’ll Be Doing

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Proven experience as an engineering manager or similar leadership role in a technology‑driven environment
• First hand experience as a software engineer
• Have experience building team & hiring new team members
• Excellent leadership, communication (written and spoken in English), and interpersonal skills
• Expertise with the best principles, practices, and standards in the industry, such as: SOLID, TDD, design patterns, refactoring, etc
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior management and product teams
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and learning
• Experience in leading teams working on large‑scale products

It Would Be Great If You Would Also Have

• Experience in products combining both hardware and software
• Experience in growing Scale‑ups, from being an early Engineer to 100+ people team
• Experience in B2B enterprise products
