Job summary

Ayesa Digital requires a Unified Communications Engineer to manage, optimize, and evolve enterprise collaboration across Exchange, Skype for Business, and Teams in a distributed environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Unified Communications Engineer to manage, optimize, and evolve enterprise collaboration and messaging platforms across a complex and distributed environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, Skype for Business, and Microsoft Teams services, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational excellence.

This role requires strong expertise in enterprise messaging and collaboration technologies, automation, troubleshooting of large-scale distributed systems, and the ability to contribute to the long-term architecture and evolution of unified communication platforms.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

• Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server environments, including Exchange Hybrid deployments.
• Manage and support Exchange Online services within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Administer and maintain Microsoft Skype for Business Server environments.
• Manage and support Microsoft Teams services, including Teams Phone functionality.
• Monitor, optimize, tune, and perform capacity planning activities for Exchange and Skype for Business platforms.
• Manage patching activities for Exchange Server and Skype for Business environments.
• Provide second-line support across production, development, and testing environments.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and ensure timely updates within ticketing systems.
• Collaborate with other infrastructure and application teams to harmonize solutions, processes, and operational procedures.
• Design and support long-term architectural changes within unified communications platforms.
• Contribute to technical specifications and solution designs involving messaging and collaboration technologies.
• Work closely with development teams to align platform topologies and configurations with project requirements.
• Maintain and continuously improve technical and operational documentation.
• Participate in the creation of documentation for new services, solutions, and platform enhancements.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Microsoft Teams PowerShell and Exchange Online PowerShell.
• Automate user provisioning, license assignment, configuration validation, and operational audits across Microsoft 365 and on-premises environments.
• Support and administer communication services integrated with collaboration and workplace management solutions.
• Prepare operational reports and provide regular updates on activities and platform status.
• Perform other duties related to unified communications services as assigned by management.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

• Excellent practical knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server, including Exchange Hybrid environments.
• Proven experience administering complex Exchange topologies in distributed enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Skype for Business Server.
• Strong expertise in Exchange performance optimization, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Experience optimizing and planning capacity for Skype for Business environments.
• Practical experience administering communication services within Microsoft Teams.
• Experience managing Exchange Server and Skype for Business patching processes.
• Strong expertise in analysing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within large-scale distributed systems.
• Basic administration experience across other Microsoft infrastructure and collaboration technologies.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Teams PowerShell and Exchange Online PowerShell scripting.
• Experience automating bulk user provisioning, license assignment, and recurring configuration audits.
• Experience working across both Microsoft 365 and on-premises environments.
• Practical experience managing Connex/Dencrypt communication platforms.
• Experience administering desk sharing, group calendar, and room panel solutions, including TimeFlex.
• Experience operating within restricted environments.
