Job summary

Hitachi Energy is looking for a proactive Tactical Buyer to join our procurement organization in Krakow. This role contributes to continuity of supply, cost optimization, and supplier performance while collaborating with internal stakeholders and a diverse supplier base.

You will purchase goods, materials and services, manage day‑to‑day sourcing activities, negotiate terms, and execute orders within ERP systems, while working from the office at least one day a week to ensure strong collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or sourcing.
• Experience with suppliers and day-to-day procurement activities.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency in business English.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
• Manage operational and tactical sourcing activities to ensure continuity of supply.
• Build, maintain, and develop strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and service conditions to maximize value and support cost‑saving initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance and participate in supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
• Analyze spending, supplier data, and market trends to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions.
• Create and manage purchase orders, schedules, and procurement documentation within ERP systems.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to support projects, sourcing activities, and business initiatives.
• Resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, pricing, and invoice discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and company guidelines while driving continuous improvement.
