Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Kraków is seeking a Category Manager to develop and execute strategic category plans, optimize procurement of goods and services, drive cost savings, and ensure supplier performance within assigned categories in a dynamic multinational environment.

You will lead end-to-end sourcing processes, identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, monitor performance, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, sales and legal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
• Proven track record of developing and executing category strategies and achieving significant cost savings.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Understanding of global supply chain dynamics and international trade regulations.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead end-to-end procurement for assigned categories.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct due diligence and risk assessments.
• Negotiate terms including pricing, SLAs, and IP rights.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct business reviews.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to implement strategy.
• Drive cost reduction and value creation in assigned categories.
• Manage supplier relationships and address issues proactively.
• Stay informed on industry trends, advancements, and regulations.
• Prepare and present reports on category performance and savings to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethics.
