Job summary

AFRY invites applications for a Senior Project Manager in Renewables & Energy Storage in Poland. You will lead project execution from sales to delivery across PV, wind onshore, and storage, with emphasis on wind.

The role requires a university degree in Electrical/Energetic Engineering, fluency in English and Polish, and strong knowledge of grid codes, HV substations, and power-system analysis. You will manage multi-disciplinary design reviews and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Polish; other languages are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Polish grid code and renewables power systems.
• Experience with HV substations, transmission lines, and grid connections.
• Ability to perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercially and lead project execution in renewables (PV, wind, storage).
• Identify follow-on sales opportunities within projects and support proposals.
• Lead complex technical assignments: due diligence, technical advisory, performance reports for lenders/owners.
• Participate in design reviews and supervise design review processes.

Take on the responsibility as:

Project Manager – Senior Expert Renewable Energy – 100% (f/m/d) - Poland

Develop commercially and then lead project execution in renewable energies (PV, wind onshore, battery storage, wind onshore/offshore), with particular emphasis on wind.

Identify "follow-on" sales opportunities in your projects, supporting proposal efforts, including project scoping and managing client interactions beyond the mere submission of a written offer.

Lead complex technical assignments: due diligence, technical advisory, performance monitoring reports for different stakeholders such as Lenders, Sponsors or Owners.

Participate, as an active member with previous experience on design review and supervise design review processes.

Manage the entire project life cycle, from sales, up to closure capturing and disseminating lessons learned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a university degree in Electrical/Energetic Engineering, is fluent in English as well as Polish, additional languages such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, or German are a plus,has competences in electrical power systems for renewables (in particular BESS, wind and solar), HV substations and transmission lines, grid codes, energy markets.

The following specialized skills will be appreciated:

knowledge of basic design for generator and transformers, including tests and fault analysis

ability to perform cost evaluation for electrical systems including HV substations and HV connections (overhead lines, underground cables)

ability to perform, manage and check calculation reports (load flow and short circuit, stability studies, earthing system, lightning system, insulation coordination, protection selectivity and setting)

deep knowledge of Polish grid code from both a technical and bureaucratic (e.g., application of grid connection and subsequent steps) perspective

ability to perform site surveys in HV substations and power plants

ability to manage detailed design activities (e.g., arrangement of HV substations, transformers and switchgear rooms, cables and cable ways, earthing, lighting, lightning) through external engineering companies
