Job summary

Arup in Poland is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Consultant to shape innovative projects across Europe. You will lead technical advisory, feasibility studies, and permit support for wind, solar, BESS, and hydrogen initiatives, working with multidisciplinary teams and clients from developers to regulators.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive project development from feasibility through to delivery, and help grow the business by identifying opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science or related field.
• Experience delivering renewable energy projects (solar PV, BESS, wind, hydrogen).
• Fluency in English and Polish.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical advisory and renewable energy consultancy assignments across technologies (wind, solar, BESS, hydrogen).
• Manage feasibility studies, site assessments, permitting support and project development activities.
• Develop innovative, practical solutions addressing technical, regulatory, environmental and commercial challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated energy infrastructure projects.
• Engage developers, utilities, regulators and stakeholders to provide trusted technical guidance throughout the lifecycle.
• Support business development, including proposal work and client relationship management.
• Mentor junior consultants and engineers to share knowledge and uplift the team.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to complex and high-profile projects throughout Poland and Europe. Working alongside engineers, environmental specialists, planners, economists, and project managers, you'll help clients overcome technical and regulatory challenges while delivering practical solutions that create lasting value.

The Opportunity

This is your chance to play a key role in shaping some of the most exciting renewable energy projects in Poland and across Europe.

You will provide technical and strategic support throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility and permitting through to project development, delivery, and operation. The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of renewable energy and energy transition projects, working with leading clients across both public and private sectors.

As a Senior Renewable Energy Consultant at Arup, you will:

• Lead technical advisory and renewable energy consultancy assignments across a range of technologies, including wind, solar, BESS, and emerging energy solutions.
• Manage feasibility studies, site assessments, technical evaluations, permitting support, and project development activities for renewable energy projects.
• Develop innovative and practical solutions that help clients address technical, regulatory, environmental, and commercial challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable energy infrastructure projects.
• Engage with developers, utilities, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders, providing trusted technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client relationship management, and identification of new market opportunities.
• Mentor junior consultants and engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing across the team.

Ideally, You'll Bring

• Degree in Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with significant professional experience in renewable energy consulting, engineering, project development, or technical advisory.
• Demonstrated experience delivering renewable energy projects, including solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) or/and onshore or offshore wind, or/and hydrogen, or/and other low-carbon technologies.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy project development, feasibility assessment, permitting processes, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high-quality technical deliverables.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English and Polish.
