Job summary

Corning Inc. in Poland is seeking an Optical Assembly Development Engineer to drive the development of micro-optic components and modules for next-generation connectivity applications.

You will lead hands-on experiments, design setups, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mature concepts for high-volume manufacturing. The role requires strong lab skills, experience with optical components and precision alignment, and the ability to analyze data to support engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on laboratory experience with optical components and instrumentation.
• Experience with optical/micro-optical assemblies and characterization.
• Designing and developing experimental setups for optical applications.
• Strong understanding of precision optical alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D activities for optical assembly concepts of micro-optic components.
• Design, build, and refine experimental setups for optical alignment and performance evaluation.
• Plan and execute experiments with international project teams.
• Characterize and evaluate measurement data to guide development decisions.
• Support materials, fixtures, joining methods, and assembly strategies.
• Document findings and share knowledge across the organization.
