Job summary

UST is seeking a Lab Technician to support remote troubleshooting, recovery, and operation of Client validation and engineering environments. The role emphasizes maintaining platform availability, resolving hardware, firmware, OS, and infrastructure issues, and enabling stable 24×5 remote lab operations.

The candidate will troubleshoot boot failures, perform remote diagnostics, monitor systems, and collaborate with engineering and validation teams to drive preventive improvements and knowledge

Qualifications

• Experience in lab operations, validation, technical support, or system troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, operating systems, firmware, and basic networking.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, SSH, and KVM.
• Experience troubleshooting boot, hardware, firmware, and system availability issues.
• Ability to analyze logs, diagnostic information, and monitoring data.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with distributed engineering and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve platform boot failures, qualification issues, infrastructure outages, firmware problems, and system availability issues.
• Perform remote diagnostics and recovery using SSH, KVM, GTA Toolkit, monitoring dashboards, and engineering tools.
• Monitor lab systems and restore unavailable or malfunctioning platforms.
• Investigate recurring technical issues and support root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate technical escalations with engineering, validation, and infrastructure teams.
• Develop and maintain troubleshooting and recovery procedures.
• Identify recurring failure patterns and recommend preventive improvements.
• Mentor junior technicians and share troubleshooting best practices.
• Support continuous service availability and operational excellence across 24×5 remote support operations.

• Basic scripting or automation knowledge using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience mentoring junior technical team members.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Computer Engineering, Electronics, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
