Job summary

UST is seeking a Lab Technician to support remote troubleshooting, recovery, monitoring, and maintenance of Client validation environments. The role focuses on ensuring platform availability, resolving incidents, and supporting stable operation of validation farms.

Responsibilities include diagnosing hardware, firmware, OS, and networking issues, performing OS recovery and firmware updates, and coordinating with on-site and engineering teams to maintain platforms and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Experience in lab operations, validation, system support or technical troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, hardware, OS, firmware and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with remote system troubleshooting, monitoring and recovery.

• Perform advanced remote debugging, system recovery, platform monitoring, and incident triage.
• Diagnose failed test platforms and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, OS, and infrastructure issues.
• Perform remote OS recovery, firmware updates, hardware diagnostics, and system qualification.
• Monitor platform availability and CI regression environments.
• Support deployment and configuration validation activities.
• Coordinate issue resolution with onsite and engineering teams.
• Maintain troubleshooting procedures, operational documentation and incident records.
• Identify recurring failures and support preventive improvements.
• Ensure platform availability and support achievement of operational KPIs.

• Monitor platform availability, downtime trends, and CI regression environments.
• Support deployment and configuration validation activities.
• Respond to technical requests and coordinate issue resolution with onsite and engineering teams.
• Maintain troubleshooting procedures, operational documentation, and incident records.
• Identify recurring failures and support preventive improvements.
• Ensure platform availability and support achievement of operational KPIs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in lab operations, validation, system support, or technical troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, hardware, operating systems, firmware, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with remote system troubleshooting, monitoring, and recovery.
• Experience with SSH, KVM, diagnostic tools, and monitoring systems.
• Understanding of OS recovery, firmware updates, hardware diagnostics, and system qualification.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote and onsite technical teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with hardware validation, semiconductor, test, or engineering lab environments.
• Familiarity with CI/regression environments and platform validation processes.
• Knowledge of BIOS/UEFI, system imaging, and platform recovery.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Computer Engineering, Electronics, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
