Job summary

UST is seeking a Lab Support Engineer to provide hardware, software, and infrastructure support for Intel validation laboratories. You will troubleshoot issues, maintain lab systems, and assist with platform recovery and qualification to ensure reliable operations.

The role focuses on diagnostics across servers, storage, networks, and virtualization, with emphasis on documenting procedures and improving lab processes. Collaboration with engineering teams will be essential to meet SLAs and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Experience in lab support, hardware validation, infrastructure support, or technical operations.
• Good troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, firmware, networking, and infrastructure.
• Experience supporting servers, workstations, storage, and network equipment.
• Knowledge of Linux, BMC/iLO, system logs, and hardware diagnostics.
• Understanding of virtualization environments.
• Experience with system recovery, firmware updates, hardware upgrades, and platform qualification.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, and infrastructure issues in validation labs.
• Diagnose system failures using logs, firmware data, BMC/iLO, monitoring dashboards, and engineering procedures.
• Configure and maintain servers, workstations, storage, network devices, and virtualization environments.
• Perform machine recovery, firmware updates, hardware upgrades, diagnostics, and system qualification.
• Support hardware installations, replacements, and lab infrastructure expansion.
• Maintain accurate hardware inventory and asset records.
• Develop and maintain troubleshooting procedures and technical documentation.
• Coordinate lab activities and elevate complex issues when required.
• Support continuous improvement of lab processes and operational efficiency.
• Ensure lab activities meet defined SLAs and KPIs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Computer Engineering, Electronics, IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
