Job summary

Docplanner is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to own the Payments area and elevate the team to a high‑performing, AI‑native level. You will lead 7–9 engineers, work closely with the Product Manager, and stay hands-on in code to drive meaningful healthcare payments features.

You’ll shape the team’s culture, set clear expectations, and balance foundational work with fast experiments, ensuring delivery of high‑quality outcomes for users across our global health platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years leading engineering teams in product companies.
• Hands‑on experience using AI to speed up code writing, reviewing and refactoring.
• Fluent English.
• Founder mindset: move quickly from idea to experiment and validate with users.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and try new things.

Responsibilities

• Own performance management for the team: set expectations, give feedback, run reviews and calibrations, address underperformance.
• Level up engineers: growth plans, coaching through pairing and code review, grow senior engineers and tech leads.
• Collaborate with Product Manager and Design to decide investment focus and experiments, pivot as needed.
• Stay hands‑on: contribute in the codebase, implement features and architectural changes.
• Maintain AI‑native practices and high quality while lowering operational burden as delivery speeds up.
• Track and communicate impact with concrete metrics: delivery speed, quality, team engagement and product outcomes.
