Job summary

Docplanner is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to own the Booking & Availability engine, the core scheduling component for practices. You’ll lead the Booking & Availability engineering team, collaborate with Product and Design, and stay hands-on in code to ensure reliable, AI‑native delivery.

You’ll drive rapid experimentation, scale a high-performing team, and align engineering with business goals across multiple markets, including a 100% remote-friendly setup and a hub in Warsaw.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 4+ years leading engineering teams in product companies.
• Experience driving platform or shared‑component work across multiple teams.
• Experience shipping systems where uptime and data integrity matter.
• Track record of growing engineers under your leadership.
• Hands-on experience using AI to speed up code writing and review.
• Experience driving AI adoption across a team.
• Proven ability to manage dependencies and stakeholders.
• Founder mindset with ability to move quickly from idea to experiment.

Responsibilities

• Own performance management for your team: set clear expectations, give direct and regular feedback, run reviews and calibrations, and address underperformance early.
• Level up your engineers: build growth plans, coach through pairing and code review, create stretch opportunities, and grow senior engineers and tech leads.
• Hire well as the sub-area grows, and shape a team that doesn’t rely on you for every decision.
• Work hand in hand with Product and Design to decide where to invest: foundations to build, bets for fast experiments, and pivots when needed.
• Own the reliability of the scheduling engine: correctness under concurrent bookings, time zones, and incident response practices.
• Stay hands-on: code in the team’s codebase, prototype, implement features and architectural changes.
• Keep the team’s AI-native practices sharp as tools evolve, maintain high quality and low operational burden.
• Track and communicate impact with concrete metrics.
