Job summary

Docplanner is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to own the Payments area and elevate a 7–9 person team. You will partner with Product and Design to drive value, stay hands-on, and keep AI-native practices sharp as the team scales.

You bring 8+ years in software engineering and 4+ years leading teams in product companies, plus hands-on AI experience and a founder mindset. Remote-friendly, with a hub in Warsaw and flexible hours.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience.
4+ years leading engineering teams in product companies.
Track record of growing engineers under your leadership.
Hands-on experience using AI to speed up code development, review and refactoring.
Founder mindset: quick experiments and data-driven pivots.
Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys pioneering new approaches.
Fluent English with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Own performance management for your team: set expectations, give feedback, run reviews and calibrations.
Level up engineers: coaching, pairing, growth plans and mentoring.
Collaborate with Product Manager and Design to invest in foundations, fast experiments, and pivots based on user needs.
Stay hands-on: write code and drive architectural changes, not only review others' work.
Maintain AI-native practices and keep quality high while delivering faster.
Track and communicate impact with concrete metrics: delivery speed, quality, and product outcomes.
