Job summary

ALTEN Polska is seeking an experienced Embedded C++ Engineer for a full-time hybrid role in Katowice. You will design, develop, and maintain firmware for devices, contribute to CI/CD, and collaborate with international teams.

The ideal candidate has ≥5 years in C++ and embedded firmware, knowledge of TCP/IP/Ethernet and RTOS, and English at least B2 level. ALTEN offers long-term cooperation, professional growth, and Medicover benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in C++ development.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded systems/firmware development and debugging.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
• Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet), RTOS (QNX, VxWorks), or embedded systems architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Very good command of English (minimum B2).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Electronics, Automation, Robotics, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Implement and validate new functionalities related to communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP and CIP.
• Debug software, analyze defects, and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop unit and integration tests and support quality assurance processes based on CI/CD practices.
• Participate in requirements analysis, system design, and architectural discussions.
• Prepare technical documentation and conduct code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues in embedded environments.
• Work within Agile/SAFe methodologies and collaborate with international teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and actively share technical knowledge and best practices.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of EtherNet/IP and CIP.
• Programming experience in Python.
• Experience in industrial automation (PLCs, drives, I/O modules).
• Knowledge of functional safety and cybersecurity standards (IEC 61508, IEC 62443).
• Experience with hardware debugging tools (JTAG, Lauterbach).
• Understanding of low-level hardware concepts, including registers, interrupts, and BSP/HAL.
• Experience working in an Agile/SAFe environment.
