Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to shape the data ecosystem. You will build, maintain, and optimize a cloud-based data platform across AWS and GCP to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions for the business.

In this role you will partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts, designing data platforms, evaluating trade-offs, and delivering reliable infrastructure that empowers teams across the organization. Fluent English and Polish are required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Platform Engineering.
• Strong infrastructure and platform engineering experience, cloud technologies, AWS and GCP, Docker, and Terraform.
• Expertise with BigQuery, including security, performance optimization, and cost management.
• Experience working with AWS data lake architectures (Athena, S3, Glue), including query optimization, security, and cost-efficient design.
• Proficiency in Python and modern data technologies such as Airflow and dbt.
• Solid understanding of data security, platform security, and access management.
• Experience implementing and maintaining observability and monitoring solutions, such as Grafana and CloudWatch.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical options and make informed trade-offs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in environments with high engineering standards, including CI/CD, code reviews, pull requests, and governance practices.
• Fluent English (both written and spoken).
• Residing in Poland required
• Fluent Polish required

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Data Platform infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including data lakes, data warehouses, orchestration, and observability components
• Enhance the platform by introducing new features and services, improving monitoring and observability, and automating common operational tasks
• Develop and maintain CI/CD-driven deployment processes to improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer experience
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts to support and evolve the MLOps Platform
• Manage and optimize the data estate, including IAM and access policies, storage management, platform monitoring, and cost control
• Design and implement secure, compliant, and user-friendly data infrastructure solutions
• Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud environments
• Work with stakeholders across and beyond the data organization to understand requirements and deliver platform capabilities that meet their needs
• Contribute to and uphold strong engineering practices, including code reviews, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and established data governance standards
