Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to build and optimize its cloud-based data platform across AWS and GCP. You will enable scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions for the wider business.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts to deliver a platform that supports current and future data needs, while upholding strong engineering practices, IaC, and governance standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms on AWS and GCP.
• Strong knowledge of BigQuery, security, cost management, and performance optimization.
• Experience with AWS data lake architectures (Athena, S3, Glue).
• Proficiency in Python and modern data tooling (Airflow, dbt).
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring (Grafana, CloudWatch).
• Strong CI/CD, code reviews, governance practices, and IAM policies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Data Platform infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including data lakes, data warehouses, orchestration, and observability components.
• Enhance the platform by adding features, improving monitoring, and automating operations.
• Develop CI/CD-driven deployment processes to improve reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts to support MLOps platform.
• Manage data estate, including IAM, access policies, storage management, and cost control.
• Design secure, compliant, user-friendly data infrastructure solutions.
• Improve platform performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud environments.
• Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Contribute to engineering practices, including code reviews and governance.
