Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company are partnering to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the EPC contractor, providing design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant and overseeing construction of the entire facility.

Qualifications

Requires bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated experience managing technically complex subcontracts on large EPC or infrastructure projects.
Experience in regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, energy, major infrastructure, or similarly complex sectors) is strongly preferred.
Experience working with international contractors and multi‑jurisdictional regulatory environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

Supports the Contracts Manager in developing and implementing the project subcontracting strategy and Contracts Execution Plan to support project objectives and delivery requirements.
Leads contract formation and administration activities across assigned project areas, ensuring effective planning, execution, governance, and commercial performance.
Provides leadership and supervision to Contract Administrators, Senior Contract Administrators, and other contracts personnel assigned to the project.
Oversees subcontract formation activities, including contracting plans, sourcing strategies, bidder list development, commercial evaluations, negotiation strategies, commitment approvals, and execution activities.
Ensures subcontract administration activities are executed in accordance with project procedures and contract requirements, including change management, correspondence, claims management, payment administration, and closeout.
Leads the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of contractual and commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of complex issues.
Supports the development and implementation of claim avoidance and dispute resolution strategies and participates in negotiations with subcontractors and external stakeholders.
Works closely with Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, Legal, Risk Management, Procurement, and Project Management to ensure alignment between commercial strategy and project execution.
Monitors subcontract cost, schedule, change, claims, and performance metrics and provides recommendations to senior project leadership to protect project objectives.
Ensures compliance with IWPP, Policy 230, project procedures, and contractual governance requirements, with DSCS maintained as the system of record for commitments and changes.
Supports development of project contracting procedures, execution strategies, templates, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assists in the development of staffing plans, succession planning, personnel development, performance management, and mentoring of contracts personnel.
Participates in project leadership forums and provides recommendations regarding contract strategy, commercial exposure, performance trends, and risk management actions.
Supports preparation and resolution of significant contractual claims, disputes, and audit activities in coordination with Legal, Risk Management, and project leadership.
